Cavalry Corps

Post by david53 »

Would either the French or Russian Cavalry Corp work on the Table. Would there be a chance of victory over an Infantry Corp?

I would imagine that most cavalry corps lists would allow a supporting infantry division.

Depending on your coordination skill, that division could be vital supporting force for your cavalry or a good target for the enemy infantry / artillery.

Tried a Russian cavalry corps twice during playtesting. Won one, lost one. Using 2 horse artillery batteries together to work over a square is quite fun. The loss was before the cohesion drop if the charge started within 2MU rule had been put in place so the result could have been different.

They are useable but just takes some thought and a decent plan to usr well.

They don't have one in the Beta lists unless they have been changed in the main list book.

I think that all cavalry corps can field a division from the infantry corps of the period.
