Abandoned Artillery

Post by donm »

Had a problem with an enemy unit of artillery in last nights game.

Could not find anything in the rules as to how enemy aboandoned guns should be treated for movement through / over them.

I wanted to charge a waving infantry square that where just under 2" behind the abandoned guns. Could not find anything under movement or charges.

Having had a look this morning, I have found a section under evading page 31, but as the artillery had been abandoned in a previous move, don't think this applies.

Any help would be most appreciated.

There was a thread on this and going to get into the FAQ. The artillery when abandoned is not an inhibitor to any action including assaults or movement. That is my characterization. But I think Terry has said equivalent in separate thread.

Abandoned artillery are ignored for all purposes. they exist only as a marker to determine whether or not they can be recovered by the owner.
This will be clarified in an FAQ.

Thanks very much Terry.

Think I will make some blank bases as marker.
