@brettz123 - there is an upper max. Its:

First Hero - 100 to 300
Second Hero - 301 to 1,000
Third Hero - 1,001 to 2,000

Info obtained from this thread, 8th post on "gamerules.pzdat":

The heroes are variable but my units are getting it around the range I mentioned. Its probably different with other players.

Question for Brett, and anyone else who uses alot of fighters. What have been your most useful hero combinations for fighters, for which situations and for which type of fighter?

Thanks, I'm looking to try using more this time around. I only had three in my first GC core. I'd like to have 5, 6, or maybe more so I can have more Stukas. I find Stukas to be so devastating that they effectively take the place of any ground unit I could have had instead. I like the siren too

Hey Key,
This last run through I went with 7 fighters, 5 stukas, and 2 ME-110s as my base luftwaffe. When the ME-410 became available I upgraded 2 stukas and both Me-110s to the ME-410. When the FW-190 A (i think that is the one) became available I upgraded ALL of my tactical bombers to it. So by 1944 I only essentially have fighters. The Stuka is awesome but by 43 it is becoming obsolete and by 44 I just didn't want to be escorting them with 2 fighters in order to strafe tanks.

Personally I really like initiative heroes with fighters. My best combination ever was an A3A3A2 stuka which was just sick. Movement heroes I find to be the worst but anything else is relatively useful. Even spotting on a fighter makes for a pretty good recon unit. Initiative on a Stuka is useless though I like it a lot on the ME-110s.

When I play again I am considering dropping down to 6 fighters, 2-3 stukas, and 2 ME-110s. Stukas are great but I want to run some different ground units on my next play through.

Was your A8 Stuka reduced to strafing?

I used him for bombing stuff like normal. I didn't take that CORE past 42 I think so he never saw the turn of the tide in 44.
