Changing difficulty level, ongoing game.

I am half way through the grand campaigns and have begun to get pretty good at the game. So much so, that I am going through the enemy like a knife through butter.
I would like to turn the difficulty level up a notch.
Is there any way I can achieve this other than restart the grand campaign?

In GC you can change difficulty every time you start a new year and transfer your core from previous one. In the middle of a DLC it is not possible atm.
