Ahh, you guys had me hoping , based on the title, that this was going to be a grand strategic game set in the pike/shot and or horse and musket era. ( seeing how "sovereignty" has a Hobbsian ring to it)
Oh well, fantasy is ok too.
Look fwrd to more info , cheers!

Re: Hmmm
"Lite" can be a pretty subjective term though. I imagine players who love Ageods massive WWI Gold game might think the upcoming Commander game "lite"Wodin wrote:It's a fantasy game that I think falls under the "lite" genre.
I did read at matrix though that its supposed to be like a cross between risk and masters of magic?(not sure what that is) If it will be like the old Fantasy general but with a strategic element I would be quite happy

Re: Hmmm
It is region based so more like Axis & Allies but with a lot more detail and controllable battles, using a unit card based combat system. It looks very interesting.

Re: Hmmm
Well the quick blurb over at the Lordz site has got me really looking fwrd to this one. 35 nations, provincial based map, NAVIES (not sure why but Ive noticed a lot of fantasy games dont have naval warfare for some bizzarre reason...)
Look fwrd to some screenshots, cheers!
Edit: just noticed combat will be card driven...... Not sure what that means as the only cards I play are poker.....
Hey , I know it ridiculous to ask for requests in a game just announced but.......
Any thoughts about allowing combat being resolved by third party means as an option? (whether it be another pc game, Table top , whatever)? Examples of games that have this (both Matrix) are F. Hunters Campaigns on the Danube and Empire in Arms.....

Re: Hmmm
I think it might mean special abilities, represented as cards, that players can use in a battle to enhance their attack or defense. I think the Matrix game "Advanced Tactics" has a mechanism similar to this. In any case, this game sounds very intriguing and I'm looking forward to hearing more about it.What are "Battle Cards"?
Re: Hmmm
I'm interested in what is meant by this as well, as it could be any one of a number of different things such as (but not necessarily):
Units have strengths and weaknesses, and the cards have different values that add to your attack or defense or, subtract from the enemy's a/d
Units have str & wkns and the cards may be either a one time play, or something like a "+1 on all attacks until this unit loses and then discard
Units have str & wkns and the cards may be a mechanism for how you are attacking (balanced, strong right flank, strong left flank, envelopment, over-run, etc.) each of which does better or worse against the defensive cards the opponent plays
Or just as likely, something completely different.
