some newby questions

Post by kevini1000 »

For the DCL's 39-44 and (45 when available).

Will the number of maximum SE units increase beyond 3. Also will it be possible to get Panzer SE units.

I was wondering what the experience cap is for 43 DCL and 44 DCL. I know 42 is 425.

What are some more of the different types of hero bonuses. I've certainly seen a few by now.

Can any give a tally not counting SE units of the max number of core units per mission through all the DCL's. I know you have 20 core units + SE's through to Narvik and pick up 1 core plus a possible SE for the first mission of the 40 DCL.

This game rocks. I think I will play through on the normal level first to get a feel for it then look for a harder difficulty.

I like the -75% pretige version that I see.

At least in the vanilla PzC you can, so i guess in GC you should too ?
The SE units increased beyond 3 in the DLCs to 5, AFAIK. Don't know though if that carries on til 45.
Try the search function. There should be at least one thread explaing DLC further.

I had read through most of that and the questions that I was asking are not fully addressed in those areas.

Lets see you get 2 SE slots in 39 and 1 more slot in every DLC so in 44 I have 7 SE slots.

I could be wrong here but the experience cap in 43 I beleive is 475 and in 44 you can go slightly over 500 (like 510 or something like that)

Hero bonuses range from +1 to +3 determined by a random number ranging from 1-6
if the random number is 1-3 you get a +1 hero
if the random number is 4-5 you get a +2 hero
if the random number is a 6 you get a +3 hero

Hero bonuses fall into the following categories
Movement (only available as a +1 hero)
Spotting (only available as a +1 hero)
Range (only available as a +1 hero)
Initiative (available as +1, +2, and +3 heroes)
Defense (available as +1, +2, and +3 heroes)
Attack (available as +1, +2, and +3 heroes)

I won't take the time to go through eahc scenario with a CORE total but the highest number so far is Prohkovorka in the 43 DLC with a grand total of 45 slots available. This drops back down to 40 for the rest of the 43 DLC. 44 DLc starts you off with only 30 CORE slots and I am about half way through and back up to 37 (I think I have like 71 CORE units including my 7 SE units).

Thanks, Very interesting. I'll be playing through. Hopefully by the time I get finished with the 44 DCL then the 45 will be out. That would be sweet.

This another SE question. I got 2 SE infantry during the 39 Grand DCL. Could I disband the 2 SE infantry and then theoretically get 2 new Panzer type SE units in there place. I know this might be a little gamey perhaps.

Lots of people disband SE units hoping to get something better. Doing so during the deployment phase also gives you extra prestige. I think you can only get one SE unit at a time though.

Oh so the trick is to disband units during the deployment phase to get prestige back. I notice that my icon is only a little panzer 1A :(

That depends what you mean by at a time. You can only get one at the beginning of a scenario BUT you can get as many as you have slots for over the course of any given DLC.

I got a SE Panzer IIIf model for the start of the 1st mission in the 1940 DCL. I go in to upgrade this to Panzer IV D and the option is not available. So I guess I have to get along with the IIIF model. I will be able to upgrade this later on right.

I decided against disbanding either of my SE infantry units. After all these guys are fairly experienced with about 200 kills each at this point. I think the mix of 8 total infantry types seems about right. I've been using about 6 infantry types on most missions since even before Warsaw. Throwing away experienced units just isn't a good policy.

Yeah, I never saw the point of disbanding any of my SE guys. They are pretty useful and once you start building up kill totals and heroes you might as well keep them. Plus it is nice to have some free infantry in a lot of scenarios.

Not at all. If you get a stuka with an initiative hero you either want to reload and try again or convert to an ME-110 as soon as possible. When you strafe a ground target their initiative is set to 100 so it isn't going to help a stuka ever.
