your correct shawkan. there is an impression at times that the FM level of PzC is easy and that there are (many) that just (don't) find that easness so (easy) for the (first) time play and look at the maps. me included and I still got the DV except a few and lost no Core units. mostly by luck that isshawkhan wrote:I would like to try some of the higher levels but do not believe in cheating in order to reach them. As far as the skill level of game players, there are probably 10-15 people who truly excel and hundreds, if not thousands, who struggle even on the lower levels. People can get a false impression of the reality by reading these forums. Many of those, like Deducter, have worked on the scenarios and played through the battles so many times that there are few surprises for them. This of course makes the game much easier. I doubt there are many people who play a battle for the first time who think they are too easy. The Korsun battles in DLC'44 were about as much excitement as my core could stand, seeing them for the first time. After I finish DLC'44, I will start again and try to challenge myself by using the bare minimum of higher level units.
Is there anyone out there who has played the game w/o air units and/or heavy armor? That would be a challenge I think.
this I do know for me was, that I was never worried about having enough prestige in 44' after getting used to using up my prestige in earlier scenarios. the game play left me no doubt that the Devs considered this and there would always be enough prestige to go forward for me if I played wisely.
also as mentioned once you start using the heavies with maxed stars and heroes in 44', the game started to remind of the uber status I found myself playing PG. if I played again using all heavies(panzers) I would be uber
but....that's only because I have played the campaign before just like I did in PG.I'm playing a restart from 39'-44' now and at Maubeuge and have only the one Stuka I started with in 39'. I am considering not purchasing another. I seem to be less dependent on tacs now after going thru 44'. I don't know about them fighters though. man from what the amount of Soviet planes there were in 44', what's 45' going to have
also when the west side comes out, lord help the lame with no Luftwaffe I think in that 44'
