A reminder that the Senate must vote today, the 20th. Only Batesmotel appears to have forwarded formal proposals.
It appears, however, that some of the leading men, notably TGM, now hold the Senate in frank disdain and take counsel not of Rome's interests but of their private ambitions. Beware! Who can stop TGM, Rome's most successful general, from doing as he wishes, even marching on Rome? Fedem, you worry more about Pontus than TGM? Mithridates has offered a truce. TGM offers only an ominous and telling silence.
Who can say what is going on behind teh scenes? Well, i can, but I'm not tellin'.
Best,
Tim
I trust our great general TGM will not dishonor his ancestors and that he will remain loyal to our republic.
I'm sending emisaries to contact him so we can know once and for all of his true intentions.
If he is still with Rome as we all hope. His army is in good shape to attack the Gauls from the west and we can send some legions to get the barbarians from the south. Eventually we would hammered them between our two forces.
Im against a truce with Mithridates. He is a man of no trust as he proov it in the past. He must be stopped or even our Greece provinces would be in peril.
TGM pls send your answer to the senate. We are running out of time.
Salut!
Curse you Fedimicus, for you appear now to be no better than the rest. Why do I need to declare my loyalty when I and the xth have done everything Rome has asked , at great cost and sacrifice , where others suffer defeat after defeat? And what is the base of this accusation? A Gallic warchief at the gates of Rome and an effete Eastern Satrap that somehow manages to defeat Romes "mighty" generals again and again says so?
Really? Apparently the savvyness to detect the old "divide and conquer" ploy never dawned on any of you?
I am an old general and no political hack , but chew on this thought, if you can follow it: It seems to me that certain members of the senate are LOOKING to start a civil war, that way they can sieze xtra plenipotentiary powers to deal with said made up crisis. As if the armies of Gaul and Pontus at our doorsteps isnt enough of a crisis.
You want an "answer" from myself? here it is: Ist I was ordered to defend Hispania against ALL enemies of Rome, and I will do so. 2nd: Shame on the Senate, for if you truly had evidence of treason(and the stones to back up your convictions)

, you should really be sending an army to root it out instead of hoping for a "no, I'm loyal" hallmark card. Bahh.
Now Im off for the ridiculous and thankless task of tracking down brigands from the broken army of Sertorious in the wastes of North Africa. Good call Senate, what a great use of a veteran legion, when Rome has a Gallic horde at the door.
