Will we get to test 1945 soon?
This has been my most anticipated campaign, and I am really looking forward to see how the Gotterdammerung is handled.
I hope that we get a chance to test it soon!

I'm very curious about the scenario list at least...

Yes should not be long now!

Sorta like DLC 1939, we wanted to put some focus on battles not usually explored in games. Half of DLC 1945 takes place in and around Konigsberg, which was a significant battle (there was an evacuation at Konigsberg many times larger than Dunkirk) in the final months of the war.

Is it really set to be released on 30th of June?!
That's more than two months from now...

Re: Will we get to test 1945 soon?
Awesome! Looks like an intriguing scenario list, especially the Berlin and Berlin Redux, hmm...
I am glad to hear you are doing some stuff based on the fighting in East Prussia. I have heard it described once as some of the fiercest fighting of the war, but also some of the most forgotten or scarcely documented.
I hope that you use some creative scenario objectives for Berlin like you did in Stalingrad. Stuff like the Berlin Zoo FLAK tower, the Reichstag, the Chancellery, stuff like that.

We are looking to have a playable BETA soon, but right now everything is quite busy, especially with this event on top of it all (I'm not actually going):

So next weekend at the earliest, but I can give no promises.
As for Berlin, think of it like Super Stalingrad, except you are encircled and assaulted from 360 degrees.
As for Redux and what happens after Redux (there is possibly something after Redux BTW) well for that you will just have to wait and see. It may not even be available for BETA testing and could only appear in the retail version. It's just that special.
One of the things we're trying to do in DLC 1945...
Keep encouraging infantry. That means a lot of urban battles (Konigsburg, Breslau, and Berlin are all jumbo cities) Several scenarios also have a lot of rough terrain and Soviet anti-tank units (towed and self-propelled) because these make GREAT targets for infantry to engage, and we still want to at least have a little bit of infantry in our players' COREs.
I think the Panzer IV might be dead meat though. Even with old Soviet targets for it to take on, it's hard to justify buying it as a stop gap when units like the Jagdpanther are available. Maybe we can experiment with an altered equipment file for DLC 45 only that makes the Panzer IV dirt cheap? I dunno if that's a good idea, but it might be worth testing.
As for the release date, all I can say is that it is not set in stone. It may be earlier, or it may not. I simply can't tell you at this point, but the product page has to carry a date regardless.

That could be a really great idea! At the end Panzers IV were still present in the German Panzer divisions ( or in what was left of themKerensky wrote:Maybe we can experiment with an altered equipment file for DLC 45 only that makes the Panzer IV dirt cheap? Re: Will we get to test 1945 soon?
Well that largely depends on how the team as a whole feels about it. In the past, they've been less than open to the idea. Still it's a nice feature for custom content and modders to make use of, but without consensus and support, it's not going to be a feature in official content.
Re: Will we get to test 1945 soon?
It maybe worth trying to insist...
Anyway thanks for bringing up this idea

Re: Will we get to test 1945 soon?
I still have a lot of Panzer IV's in my core and I doubt I will upgrade them, It is an interesting idea to make them dirt cheap. That idea does have merit. It would make the upkeep costs of them trivial and erase some of the prestige-saving advantages of the Tiger II.
As for something after Berlin, I can't even imagine what that would be! it does sound incredibly awesome though. I am glad to hear that the DLC content will continue!

Re: Will we get to test 1945 soon?
Nah, nothing like that. After DLC 1945, there is no 1946. Within 1945 there might be a bonus after Berlin.

Re: Will we get to test 1945 soon?
Ah, gotcha. Well regardless, I am sure you will come up with something fun and creative. I expect nothing less after seven brilliant DLC campaigns and I do hope your work continues in some fashion. I am sure cranking out one DLC a month has been exhausting but maybe after a break you could do a Sea Lion grand campaign or Invasion: America grand campaign or whatever else you might have cooking.
