capture russian officers in GC '43 east

The victory conditions in the first battle require the capture of three russian officers and the escort to area A. I took all objectives twice and destroyed all enemy units and never saw any indication of any officers. What am I missing?

After conquering certain cities a captured version of the Russian BA scout will spawn. This are the officers. Just drive the scouts down to the bottom area of the map marked with "A" and keep them there.

If you have any user made mods installed, this may also cause an issue that prevents the BA-64 units from appearing correctly on the map.
