Panzer Corps Grand Campaign '44 East Released!

Post by IainMcNeil »

Better late than never but here is the annoucnement. I was out of the office last week and we moved on Friday so its a bit hectic!

More than a dozen new scenarios added!

We are thrilled to release Panzer Corps Grand Campaign ’44 East, the sixth DLC installment to the highly successful Panzer Corps series. Players are now tasked with trying to stop the Soviet steamroller as it advances west towards Germany.

If you haven’t already, check out what all the buzz is about and download the playable demo of Panzer Corps! See why critics have praised this smash hit as ”…nothing short of brilliant.”

About Grand Campaign ’44 East

The debacle at Stalingrad called into question the Wehrmacht's ability to win the war, but did Kursk confirm they would lose it? Or can the vaunted German Panzer Corps turn the tide at this critical hour? Take command of your forces once again and prepare to make your stand against the Soviet Steamroller as it advances across Eastern Europe!

This DLC features 13 all-new scenarios, featuring an elaborate campaign structure containing an unprecedented amount of unique objectives including escorting supply drops, breaking out of enemy encirclements, safeguarding evacuations, launching raids behind enemy lines, and more. In addition, this DLC has the capacity to save your core force for use in future campaigns!

The Grand Campaigns are a series of expansions for Panzer Corps and require Panzer Corps. Each campaign can be started with the core force from the previous Grand Campaign, so you can continue all Grand Campaign expansions carrying over all the core forces that completed the previous ones. Alternatively players can start with a preset core force and play each campaign on its own, or jump in to the Grand Campaign at any year.

Scenario List:
Korsun Pocket, Korsun Breakout, Narva, Strachwitz Offensive, Jassy Kishinev, Poltava, Mogilev, Babruysk, Minsk44, Vilna, Warsaw Uprising, Return to Kishinev, and Budapest44

Grand Campaign '44 East requires the original Panzer Corps to play.

Get more information on Panzer Corps from its official site on Slitherine or on Matrix Games. More information on Grand Campaign ’44 East is available from both Slitherine and Matrix Games as well.

Will the campaigns in the West follow the same path as those in the East, so regardless how good you are, you will still be driven back all the time?

I liked the feature of PG that you were able to change history and even invade the USA, that your decisions and victories had a meaning and consequences.

I played all east campaigns and spent a lot of time to get decisive victories only, just to end up in Budapest '44 and probably Berlin '45?

The Grand Campaigns have to follow a more historical path or the branches becomes too complex. E.g. If you held the Allies in 1943, the 1944 campaign would have to be completely different to if you let them push you back. Then what happens in 1945, there are lots of possible situations so you need a variety of GC's.

If there is demand we could add alternative GC after we've completed the historical track and then you might be able to change history. This would be a lot of work though so we'll have to look at it very carefully before committing to it.

While it is fun to ponder 'what if' lines of thought, the truth is the Nazis had NO chance of ever invading North America whatsoever.

I prefer my ruthlesslessly accuracy driven games to be kept ruthlessly connected with reality. I prefer a sequence of campaign start points as we have now ie 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 because they allow me to see what I might have done under the conditions present, but the father it wanders from the historical, the less it becomes worthwhile to even waste the time listening to the 'accuracy demons' :)

If one really wants to experience full out what if the logical choice is Civilization V with a decent WW2 setting scenario. And considering how Civ V is basically single unit in a hex, it will even feel the same.

Any Screenshots available yet? Usually there are screenshots posted but not for this one. Curious to see the supply drops for encirclements.

Eagerly awaiting next installment for North African campaign to mirror the original PG game.

Same here, waiting for a North Africa campaign, both for Panzer Corps and Battle Academy North Africa expansion.
