A few Recovery questions

Post by Robbrr »

Hi Guys,

This may have been covered elsewhere, but I couldn't confirm them:
1) Could two separate officers, i.e. a Corps and a Division commander roll for the same unit and assuming they both pass, recover 2 levels in one turn?
2) When a unit recovers, it states it may face in any direction, but is that for a complete recovery,i.e. getting back to "Steady" or does that also include something like going from "Wavering" to "Disordered"?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob

1. Yes. Every officer gets a recovery attempt. These may be the same unit.
2. It is any recovery of cohesion so includes wavering to disordered.

A doubt...
The second point, if applicable, give in fact a "free" turn to the unit recovering in the recovery phase?
For example, a unit who recover from Wavering to Disorder can also change his facing turning 90° to left? I thought this was possibile only when recovering from "broken" status....

I believe Kendal is correct, you get a 'free' wheel when passing a recovery roll even if not broken.

This is useful to remember when you launch a successful attack and punch a hole in the enemy line, but end up disordered.
If you pass a recovery attempt at the end of your turn, you can turn 90 degrees to face the next enemy unit in the line, giving you a flank shot against it in the opposition's following turn.
