Side and rear armor

Post by mroyer »

My PzKw III's were having a heck of a go facing down the Souma S35's last night in France. But, I managed to get up close behind one and voila, almost instant destruction. Did that happen because of my close range, the Souma's weaker rear armor or both?? (i.e., Does the game account for side and rear armor thickness and slope separately from front armor?)

There are values for front/side/rear/top armour. We don't account for actual angles, they are factored into the values along with all the various other factors. But rear and flank attacks are always going to have a better pen chance than frontal.

Cheers

Nice.

Understood. In the end, the game accounts for it whether it's rolled up into one number or separately tracked.

Thanks for the explanation.
