Leader restrictions

Post by CrimsonStorm »

Does anyone have a list of leader restrictions?

ie: Only Art & AA can get +1 Range

It seems like AA are unable to get +X Initiative is this correct? I realise its pointless for AA fire but nice for defense or the 88's

Are there any other restrictions?

May be a stupid question, but if you get a leader added to a switch unit like those 88s, does it count for both switches? Because each is a separate unit entry in the eqp file....never paid attention to this...

I have a + move and + attack and they seem to count ok. + range obviously only affects the AA role

Very interesting subject.

I have an artillery unit, which got a +1 spotting hero. Absolutely useless in my opinion!

As i experienced it modifications are mainly +1. I only had a few +2 heroes and one cavalry with a +3 defense hero (cavalry definitely needs that  ). Range, I assume, won't get more than +1. Imagine an artillery with a range of three and a +3 range hero? Or a StG IIIB (it is an artillery unit) with a range >1?

Are there any real heroes included in the game like this yugoslavian fighter unit? Rudel, Wittman, Hartmann for example? If not, wouldn't it be a nice idea to add them?

+1 spotting on an artillery unit has one use: convert it to a StuH 42, which sees combat on the front lines. It even has a nifty direct fire mode.

But yeah, it is pretty useless. Even + defense is nice on an artillery. I actually like +attack heroes on artillery a lot, almost as much as + range heroes.

AA can get + ini heroes. I've had 88 guns with initiative heroes before, they are very nice pre-1943.

I have a Spot +1 hero on an Arty unit. It has not been a benefit at all. I did get a +1 move bonus on an 88. That's come in handy in both AA and ATG modes. My ultimate hero unit is a Ju88 with 3 hero awards. +3, +2 and +3 attack. I call it the "Eraser" because it just wipes away Ivan's tanks. It has won the Golden Oak leaves to the Knight's Cross.

I would like to see if someone has the hero to unit type list.
