Can You Skip A Campaign And Still Keep Core Force

I was wondering if it is possible to skip a campaigns but still retain your core force. I wanted to jump from 1940 right into 1942 but the description seems to imply you can only import your force from prior campaign - meaning only from 1941.

No you will not be able to skip a campaign.
You cannot bring a 1940 CORE into 1942. This was done not only for balance, but to prevent confusion (we would have a problem of every CORE being valid for every campaign, which can get really confusing with multiple CORE saves and multiple campaigns)

You will have to start 1942 with the pre-built CORE, or as an alternative, you can import your 1940 CORE into 1941, use the endscn 0 cheat to quickly rush through 1941, and then import that CORE into 1942.

I know it's been said many times before, but this is a great game... Can't think of too many that start off at such a level and get even better with the DLC. But this is defintely one...
