A Bug

Post by dickesKind »

Hello,

the game vs Kingt (viewtopic.php?f=103&t=31914)seems to be bugged like hell.
It is the second time I have unit with explosve charges left next to an enemy tank. But they refuse to attack.
Though the unit is a "Home Guard" I can't image these kind of units are incapable in attacking armored units.
So this must be a bug. If not, it is bad thing, that it was mentioned nowhere, that Home Guards cannot attack armored units.
It costed me some very important units in this game and probably the whole game.
Nevertheless it is worth mentioning, that Kingt is a great opponent and a nice guy.

Btw, I had Home Guards shooting with their rifle at german tanks some turns ago. So there MUST be a bug.
Oh, I just see, that you can see the outcoming of my earlier trials on the screenshot. The PanzerIII was surrounded and the two Home Guards just shot with their rifles while the Panzer III was driving to the rear of my A10.

I'm not familiar enough with the Sealion unit design to be sure, but I would be suprised if home guard units carried AT charges. Alternatively, could they have been either out of charges, or on Hold Fire?

Cheers

Hi Pip,

please check out my scrennshoot. They have one charge left. If not for AT-attacks - what else for? I always thought, that those "dynamite-symbols" mean, that the unit can attack enemy amored units.

Greetings...

Your home guard unit only has 2 AP left, maybe not enough for an attempt.
You can call me junk - and type that with one hand.

Maybe I am totaly wrong, but I think infantry does not need APs for attacks
I even sourounded a Panzer III with homeguards and he drove off without them throwing grenades. They shot with their rifles. Imo thats strange.

It's all very odd indeed, yes. You don't need APs for attacks, just shots. I'm not really sure what to say - we've not had any other reports, and it might be that it is working as intended, but I don't know the method behind the madness :).

Cheers

Normally troops will not fire rifles at armour since it won't do damage. A squad with a bundle should be able to attack a tank. I can't read the on screen message.

Junk, you should be able to scroll my screenshot. You should see a bundle in the status bar.
Strange that noone else encountered this. The whole game seemed bugged, with zombie tanks and so on.
I'll have an eye ion this and will inform you if anything new comes up or happens again.
