It would of course be possible to fit a tank into the game's balance. It would however not really fit with the "skirmish level combat" that we aim for. We do not want full war confrontations. So so not expect tanks in the first version of TA. And also, tanks would add a rock-paper-scissor element to the game in the forces (or more like tank-bullet-AT) which we do not want to have. We want a player to be able to play whatever kind of force he or she wishes, without having to worry about having the right counter-measures for tanks. Of course we already have this at some level, since players SHOULD think about how to handle snipers, stealth, pinning etc. But players can still play around these things if making the right decisions in the match. Fighting a tank without AT measures however is quite hard, no matter how good tactical choices one make...
In the future however, if we make a sequel, as I mentioned in some other topic, we might go for larger combats. This should then include tanks, air strikes and all that stuff. OR we could go for a more RPG-like approach with characters and individual soldier progression etc, like many of the classic turn-based games do. Time will tell
