American planes can't reach Europe!

I know that with research I can increase the range of aircraft, and strategic bombers may eventually get the range to get to the UK, or via Iceland; but is there another way, especially for the other 2 plane types?

yes cheers! I found this out while continuing the game yesterday when the US finally entered the war, even though in the manual it says "GROUND units may load onto transports........."
