Through two tough last two rounds Olivier and Jerome held on to strong positions.

Bruce Brown manage to rumble author RBS's Sassanids in the last round.

Jerome managed a victory over Olivier's Neo-assyrians at the third attempt.

The final top three....

1, Bruce Brown Ghaznavid
2. Jerome Bodelle Later Scots Common
3. Olivier Joucla Neo-Assyrian

A worthy top 3, I must say, having seen their army designs and games in action. Congratulations to all 3 - in addition to normal prizes they took away specially commissioned FOG camps to use in future games, and very nice they were too! Clearly the French FOG players have rapidly got to grips with the nuances of the game, and we are expecting a tough beta-test competition in Paris in September.

Much fun had by all. Umpiring was a pleasure in fact. All games played in a great spirit and at a real pace.

One highlight was the comflict between Neil Hammond's Mongol's and Hunter Hope's Pechcnegs - a full 6ft of largely single rank cavalry with bow and sword engaged in a massive bow and sword tussle which I think the Mongols finally won.

The 1000pt doubles games tested in Friday also went very well and some people have even been talkling about more than 800pts for singles now they are getting the hang of the rules. More news soon.

I hope everyone had a good trip home and look forward to catching all the comments and personal experiences on the various forums

Si
