Is there any way to change what tech levels change the image of the unit?

Will the ability to do this ever be added? I don't like it that the unit type changes after only one tech level, then its about five more levels until it changes again.

It changes when you get a % of the way through the tech tree. For nations that start wiht organisation techs that means they are close to the first jump at the beginning.
