Wheeling when passing through friends?

Post by vichussar »

In a game played last Saturday a small Prussian cavalry unit assaulted my small French infantry unit. The cavalry started directly behind a Prussian infantry unit from the same division and had to wheel in the first half of its move while still passing through to reach my French unit. Other than the diagrams showing passing through which show units moving straight through from back to front of the fellow unit there seems to be no restriction on direction changes while doing so in the rules, is this correct?.

Hi,

Does not appear to be anything stopping this from occurring. Thoughts anyone?

Cheers,

As long as the assaulting unit can pass entirely through the friends I don't see a problem with it.
We specifically state "pass through friends in any direction"

Hi,

Thanks Terry. There is nothing in the rules against it, so that matches with our decision during the game.
