Got a hero on a brand new unit?????
I bought an Sdkfz 7/2 today during the Belgorod scenario in the 1943 East DLC and on his first shot ever fired he did 4 damage to an IL-4 and got a hero. Is that a change or something specific to AA units? I thought you couldn't get your first hero until you had 100 kills?

Starting in DLC 1943, it is possible for the first hero to get acquired faster to help newly purchased units catch up to their veteran colleagues who, at this point, may have seen four full campaigns worth of fighting.
This change only affects the very first hero though, after that the progression continues as normal.

Very cool change. I guess that shows how little I bought new units last time I played through the DLC.Kerensky wrote:Starting in DLC 1943, it is possible for the first hero to get acquired faster to help newly purchased units catch up to their veteran colleagues who, at this point, may have seen four full campaigns worth of fighting.

This was implemented to also help non-imported CORE forces, who needed the extra help to bring their hero stock up to speed.
Pretty big difference between your 40 unit CORE of 2-3 heroes each and a 40 unit core of 0 heroes each.

There is a another problem with the random hero allocation system. While i don't mind the random system at all and usually bad and good luck evens out this time it's getting a bit ridiculous for me. All my artillery is seems to be getting are either defense or spotting heroes. If memory serves one my Wurfrahmen's is leading the chase with 3 x defense heroes for a grand of +5 defense. I am considering to upgrade it to a StuH42 and use it as tank blocker. With that defense its almost tougher then a bloody Tiger. :Kerensky wrote:This was implemented to also help non-imported CORE forces, who needed the extra help to bring their hero stock up to speed.

P.S. I know i could save and reload if i get a hero i do not like but it feels a bit like cheating to me.
