You know, I think this engine would be FANTASTIC for a modern combat game... Afghanistan, Iraq, all that?
You already have desert scenery, so you could easily use that.
Would need modern NATO infantry, SAWS, snipers, maybe a few pieces of armor (humvee, stryker, abrams) for one side... maybe some SEALs or DEVRGU or something cool.
Then some insurgents with technicals.
I think it could be a lot of fun!:)
Would LOVE to see...

Why don't YOU do it! Just go ahead and use the editorlordashram wrote:you could easily use that.

It's a minority of wargamers calling for modern war scenarios. They (modern war scenarios) lack "spirit" and dramaturgy imho. Leading US forces into combat in a far away desert for oil is not the same like "the whole world fights tyranny in europe".

Yes the modding system fully supports this so you can give it a try!

Re: Would LOVE to see...
Unfortunately I lack the 3D ability to do proper models that you would need... plus, I have my own XBOX game that I am working on for representing a modern conflict... so I probably cannot use the time for a mod for another game. Maybe once we release our game...
I still would love to see it though!:D Certainly the engine is a LOT more appropriate for a modern sim than, say, a sim for a black powder era game:)

I'm new to this whole mod thing and I have battle academy for the iPad so I don't even think I can do those sort of things......anyway I just thought it would be cool if someone made different time periods for this type of turn based tabletop game. Add any era warfare and I believe you have a hit. Civil War? Hit. Napoleaonic Wars? Hit. 100 years war? Hit. The point I'm trying to make is battle academy is brilliant. As a new fan of tabletop games ( Flames of War mostly ) battle academy brings the same joy to my iPad. I just wish I was tech savvy enough to make some of these dreams come true. Haha. Cheers
