Finally.I thought everyone one was going to War but me......I was already making preparations to take care of the abandoned wifesTiavals wrote:Looks like we have enough players after all with the new guys, so I'll be taking the max number. Me, ericdoman1, Fedem and Supervark will go against Mithradates.
I suggest the other two armies take more people in too, since it's bound to be annoying to be in the campaign yet not fight.

Given that Morbio is of uncertain status I'd suggest that he join Batesmotel in the campagin against the Cilician pirates. Then we'll have at least 3 players in each army.Demetrios wrote:Turk still has to be assigned to an army.

OK, gang, here's the SS again and all assignments are now final. We're good to go!

Note that Klaus will now be playing as the Cilician Pirates, giving me a bit of a break. I'll be playing Pontics and Allobroges.
Best,
Tim

Hi Tim
You could have made an error there.
Which one's are for the All aboard and the others for the pontic's.
Just to confirm as well. You have an Armenian ally for the Pontics, an mf ally for the Gauls (or would we know that) and you can only have a max of 8 cav, cats and hch.
I may have been prob going deja vu if i turn up with an army to face the Pontics and am facing the Gauls:)
Cheers

Alright, alright.how do you want to handle this:
Eric was right................I accepted the 2nd challenge listed thinking the first 2 challenges were against the gauls.........i am now facing a pontic army? So wrong challenge ................cancel challenge and reissue ith a "G" and a "P" on the end of the challenges to denote what army we face? Sorry for causing confusion here guys.

On the Pont Front
Hail Rome
A hard fought victory with approx 30% casualties for the Romans
Some of my Spaniards (what's left of them) are going to need some real discipline training. Going impetuous when they were ordered to protect the rears of friends units and hence the loss of probably another 5 or 600 men
A basic report then Romans 21/30 (2646/8720 casualties) and the Pontics 38/35 (4812/10500 casualties)
What news on the other fronts?
Yours feeling atoned and villified

Hello Klaus, I accepted your Sertorius challenges, won initiative but then got the error "cannot write file" and got bumped out... I tried again with same result... I used my army recently vs TJD so that shouldnt be the sourse and I have issed and accepted plenty of other games so I thnk maybe either your saved army is corrupted or just its just one of those things... (maybe its some weird bug with English-German versions of FoG??)
I issued a challenge , same password cotr. We'll try again if that doesnt work Ill pos something in the tech area.
Re: CRISIS OF THE REPUBLIC TOURNAMENT / Roman Senate
Dispatch from Bithynia:
It is with regret that we inform to the Senate and people of Rome that the III Legion commanded by Praetor Federicus has suffered a defeat by a Pontus Army led by a brave Commander known as "Timidates". According to our sources this men used to serve on a Auxiliary Cavalry Alae so he knows most of our tactics and he employs very well the experienced Pontic heavy Cavalry.
The III Legion was attacked on the plains. They tried to take defensive positions behind some ditches but they were slowly surrounded and they forced to leave the security of that ones. Actually we think that the enemy ended taking better use of that ones than us
. The better mobility of the enemy was very important.
Our cohorts ended a little scattered and though they fought very well individually they ended taking heavy losses. Our well trained elephant ws able to dispatch some Cats but that was not enough.
At the crucial moment of the battle the enemy took out our camp (stealing all our wine) and that was it. We had to retreat the remaining forces; at least we saved the Eagle.
Now we are behind our fortified camp leaking our wounds and waiting orders.
"Timidates" Pontic Army 33/35 vs Federicus III Legion 30/29.
Federicus. Commander of the III Legion-Bithynia.
