Interception question

Post by Pikeaddict »

If a BG declares a charge and is intercepted :

Does it move up to the ZOI and then stop waiting for the interceptor. May the interceptor step forward ? and the initial charging BG also ?

Concerning the POAs : which one of the 2 BG is considered charging or not charging ? And what if the charging BG had not moved at all because already in the ZOI of the intercepting BG ?

Sorry for those tricky questions :?

The intercepting BG is moved to a possition within it's ZOI where it will interfere with the charge.

Both BGs are considered to be charging so spear don't get a POA against lancers etc.

In the early version of the rules there was a diagram that made this much clearer. I am sure that the same or a similar diagram will be present in the final version of the rules.

No, the interceptor moves first.
May the interceptor step forward ?
Good question. I would have to think about it with the rules in front of me. Normally not because it won't usually move into contact with the chargers. If the enemy start within its ZOI then presumably the interceptors would step forward (although possibly only to the limit of their ZOI).
and the initial charging BG also ?
Yes

Both in both cases. (Except when the intercept hits the chargers in flank/rear, in which case it cancels their charge.)
