Clarification Questions
I had a few questions that don't seem to be covered by the rule book, and I'll post them in this thread as I remember them in case anyone has the time to answer them.
- What does Organisation do?
- Does the AI pay any attention to Fog of War (it seems remarkably opportunistic regarding ungarrisoned towns!)?
- How does Quality work?

organisation increased maxed efficiency level and increased rate of recovering efficiency, so for quality, i am not sure at this moment if quality affect directly combat, as survivavility does, quality i think increased efficiency recovery rate, in the default scenario organisation ( Germany at 3) is the main advantage of the german army,

AI does use same oil and research rules as human players. Max laboratory is tied to War Effort %, so giving AI handicap will also mean they can buy more labs and hence get faster research.

Are you sure on the oil thing? Axis had 15+ armoured divisions, 15-20 air divisions, 10+ subs, and half a dozen motorised divisions, and was able to continue apparently using them until 1944 on 15 day turns without capturing a single oil field. What's the AI's secret? I can't even get past '41 without new oil fields, and less oil consuming units (8 armoured+mechanised, 6 air and 4 naval)

I can't work out why even in PBEM everyone seems to be talking about their uber panzers, air units etc. I must be doing something wrong because it takes ages for research to provide a upgrade and then I find i cant afford the upgrade cost anyway, never mind having to pull units out of the line to do it as leaving them there is suicide.
Thinks - are players using random research? this speeds up results from labs as you get a lot of messages. Building a couple of general air labs and having random research gives much better results than targetting one area?

You are correct and I had in fact forgotten about that one. Now checking it we have a oil bonus for the AI. It proofed a very tricky task of learning the AI that it should not move its units most of the times instead wait and use railroad so on balanced difficulty the Axis AI would spend the oil too soon and lead to halted Axis way too early.BenWH wrote:Are you sure on the oil thing?
