Howdy all,
First off, I have to say, I am thoroughly enjoying "Battle Academy" for the iPad!
As a long term wargamer (check out my blog... http://lordashramshouseofwar.blogspot.com/ ) I was stunned that SO long passed before an honest-to-goodness wargame showed up on what I think is the IDEAL platform for the game type.
When I saw Battle Academy I knew I had to buy it!
And I'll tell you... while I was nervous about spending 20 bucks on a platform where even a good game can be had for 4 or 5 dollars, I was thrilled to see how much content there was! Something like six or seven campaigns, some open missions... great stuff!
Well.. I don't skip ahead and usually try to follow the designers intended design, so I finished the first few campaigns and then reached Market Garden, and was surprised when I found that there were a bunch of campaigns listed that, once I clicked on, turned out to be purchasable content... and HARDLY cheap! At ten dollars a campaign, well... that is a lot of money.
So while I do really enjoy the game, I am a bit stuck as I am not sure I can spend the extra money. I know that in the drop down description in the iStore it says only three campaigns, so I should not be surprised, but I am still left a touch disappointed:(
I am sorry that my first post about the game is to complain; it is a great game and I thoroughly enjoy it. I just wish it was a bit more affordable, or that maybe it wasn't presented in the way it was, making it seem like there is a lot more game to go when, in reality, once you've completed half of the campaigns listed you are done:(
Thanks, though, for making a great game:)
Just a tiny bit disappointed by one thing...

Re: Just a tiny bit disappointed by one thing...
Thanks for posting your feedback, and glad you are enjoying the game.
We wanted to let players browse through the other in-app purchase campaigns to give them the best idea of what they would be getting. I think we are pretty clear in the product desription that it only includes the 3 campaigns (North Africa, Normandy, and Ardennes). I guess I understand your disappointment when you thought you were getting a whole lot more
. It should be noted that only the 3 large DLC campaigns are locked, the skirmish campaigns etc are all available in the main game.
I hope you'll continue to enjoy the game - have you tried out multiplayer yet? And there is always the downloadable free content too!
Cheers
Pip

Hey man!
Yeah, I hadn't done my homework so didn't know how much was included... so yes, it was more that I thought there was a lot more and played through the entire basic game before realizing there was no more:(
I have not yet tried multiplayer... I'll get there at some point I am sure:)
Can I ask... for the iPad, how does one download free content? Or is it only for Mac or PC? I am still a little new with using the iPad, compared to the PC:)

It's all built in. Use the folder icon on the top left of the campaign list screen. Choose your campaign and download it, and it will appear in the list. There is some great stuff there!
Cheers

Hey, LZoF! Of course! VERY happy to see you guys have done so well... love the Slitherine stuff, and you guys being part of the mix is a great boon, for them and us both!
Hope all is well, and that everyone is doing well... and when the Napoleonic game comes (which it will, in due time!) you've got one buyer here!:)
