Re: Something new and exciting?
Its Erics contest and i will stand by his decision but other factors may cause a player to not want to play.I lost My Fog for over a month until i could afford another computer and when i did reinstall FOG i had a lot of dramas and took me awhile to get all my army lists back. I still cant get IF to load and dare not tamper with my settings anymore to risk having to download the lot again. There are slow players out there and unlucky ones aswell
Re: Something new and exciting?
True, but in most cases the player can contact eric and he can make a proper judgement based on the information he has.
Re: Something new and exciting?
Challenge is up Tulius PW is war3. Can you accept soon as I shall only get a chance to play one turn a day this week.

If you had your IF registered with Slitherine than all you need to do to re-enable it is to type in the serial number in a screen you get by typing the Serials... button in the start up program. There is no need to reload any of the add ons. Just the base game and the latest full update posted. After that you can just enter the serials which are listed in your profile at the slitherine site and use the check for updates button to get anything newer than the update you downloaded.Turk1964 wrote:Its Erics contest and i will stand by his decision but other factors may cause a player to not want to play.I lost My Fog for over a month until i could afford another computer and when i did reinstall FOG i had a lot of dramas and took me awhile to get all my army lists back. Re: Something new and exciting?
Turk, of course in you get a crash, there's little you can do. But the person or team who doesn't show up - whether to the FA Cup Second Round or to a boxing match - pays the price.
If this were a Tabletop tournament, whoever was playing vs an opponent who didn't show up would of course 'go through' - there would be no question.
4 pts is ok, if you compare it to a loss, but as I win most of my games it's not impossible I would have won my game big and be top of the board! (The precise same sentiment applies to T.)
Although T's point about 'cheating' (kind of) seems unlikely, these things do happen and it's important that we feel sure it isn't happening - just like a system to make sure no-one redoes their moves/dice, as we were discussing earlier. Also, people may semi/sub-consciously play slower in games they were behind in. So let's encourage fast play!
I'll never forget a guy I met on another online site; we were discussing cheating, and he said, "My Dad always said to me, 'Son, if you're not cheating, you're not trying!'"! I was (and am) flabbergasted, but there are people who's insecurity is so strong they will willingly rather destroy a thing than not be able to control it.

To all players. Can you make sure you are accepting an email for this site. Secondly use the board preference in private messages, as I have explained and finally please send private messages to opponents issuing a challenge.
Hopefully everybody has included an email address when they bought stuff, or is it a personal profile thing?
I have pmd everybody also.

Thanks P-A
Well that screenshot proves that crowded does not really mean crowded.

Re: Something new and exciting?
I tried to give a poetic dimension to my pre-battle speech this time. I started off with, "Oh bleak lines of troops, gathered here before me . . . " but I think the galloglaich have interpreted me wrongly again.
But what the wonderful work of Pers-Anders does illustrate for any new players watching is how not to get your skirmishers trapped.

Around turn 5 or 6, I think.
Sorry about the poor quality and size, but the site doesn't allow for bigger files, and I'm too lazy to find some site to host them in.

Re: Something new and exciting?
Thanks Tiavals.
Looking good for the Scots from what I can see.
If you will note 3 challenges have been up for a few days. If anybody knows a quick way of contacting the guys who haven't accepted yet, please do so.
Looks as If British and Irish armies have been doing well so far?

Hi Turk
Same here and he acknowledged it as well, that is our game. We have played 12 turns in 4 days and that is without any turns yet today but he lives in France. I also have noted that todd and Burinus' challneges haven't been accepted.
Well all I can say is keep on trying. Again TGM is very quick.
Come on guys.
Otherwise more adjudication crap

Re: Something new and exciting?
Fair enough

Re: Something new and exciting?
You might be interested to know that my game with gazxtrix finally ended. Danish 40/36 vs Scots 24/40, turn 8. I would've gotten more points if it hadn't been adjudicated.
Re: Something new and exciting?
Tiavals Scots in Britain (later) vs Aristides Medieval Aragon
Result: 38/37 (win) vs 30/39 (77%) (Turn 9)
Points: 9 pts (4 + 3 + 2) vs 7 pts (4+3)
It was my line that ruptured in the middle, giving a lot of points to Aristides. Luckily my flank attacks went much better.
