Newbie help

Just bought this a few days ago for iPad and loving it. I am having some problems completing the 2nd mission in N Africa (the ones where the Germans attack)

Any help or tips are greatly appreciated.

Make sure you make use of the hold fire command to avoid revealing your position until you have good kill chances. Use Mortars to suppress enemy infantry. I'm sure the players will be able to suggest a lot more!

I noticed that I put my AT guns on hold fire and vehicles drove right by them and they didn't attempt a shot.

Is that typical? Should I not put my AT guns on hold fire but everything else on hold fire?

When holding fire, they won't react to anything that cannot see them. So you can let the vehicles go past, and then shoot at them from behind in your turn!
