You don't need any PNG files to run the mod, but you have to make sure you do the following:

1) The C:\Program files\Slitherine\Commander - Europe at War\data\scenario folder should contain
these files from the modified ZIP file:
1939.scn
1940.scn
1941.scn
1942.scn
1943.scn
1944.scn
ww2.map

All other files should be removed (including the data files and other scenarios)

2) The C:\Program files\Slitherine\Commander - Europe at War\data should contain the file from
the modified ZIP file in addition to the other original files:
ww2_city_eng.txt
It has to be moved there separately from the other modified files.

The reason you have to include all SCN files even though only the 1939.scn is playable is because
the game is programmed to compile ALL scenario files when it starts. If some of the scenario files
are based upon a different ww2.map file then the game will crash to desktop. You will notice the
game creates data files with the same names as the scenarios. It's the data files you select when
you select scenarios. So the game must be able to create those data files.

If expects to find all the scenarios from 1939 to 1944 and will crash if some of these scenarios are
missing. That's the reason I had to save the other scenarios with the new ww2.map file even though
they're not yet updated with new counters etc. I will not finish those before I have playtested the
1939 game and become satisfied with which units to add there. I can still change the setup there.

It's important you backup your original files and put them in a different folder so you can retrieve
them when you want to. All files located in the same folder must have been saved with the SAME
map file using the Map Editor. I struggled a bit with crashes to the desktop myself until I realized
why it happened.

A quick update on the play-testing of this modified map:

Stauffenberg and I have played August of 1940 now, using this map, and it adds a nice touch to the game imo. For starters, the added port at Cherbourg means that Stauffenberg can do a proper UK 'bugout" from France, without actually having to drive across the entire width of the country beforehand. This did not affect the game negatively at all---I was still able to attack his UK unit before it departed, and with a bit more effort, might have even gotten a "kill".

Extra ports in the Baltic are great---the German needs them because units in Kiel are far too vulnerable to air attack.

All in all, the map works very well, and I would encourage others to d/l it and give Stauffenberg some feedback.
