I don't know if i have loaded a mod incorrectly or not, but I have been offered a Feisler Stork ( excuse my spelling) five scenarios in a row. What have i done, one is Ok but two is a waste of a unit slot

Nope. I think that Storch is a bonus in SS mod, and like any bonus unit, you can have the chance of getting more than one. It's random.
You can always disband.

It's a bonus in the SS,Heer Se Total and the Elite Units.

Like da' man said just disband it if you don't want it and take the prestige.

Have you gotten any other bonus units at all?

Try this. Start a new campaign. You can label it test if you need to save it. Use the cheat code of endscn 0 by hitting SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+C. Keep on doing this for each scn. until you recive a bonus unit.

Couple of further questions

1) Are you sure you downloaded the Elite Units Mod? It sounds like you only have the SS Panzer Corps equipment file loaded.
1a) the only bonus units in the SS Panzer Corps mod is the Storch.

2) Did you intsall the SS Panzer Corps Mod played a little and then installed the Elite units?
2a)If you downloaded the SS Panzer Corps 1st and then added the Elite Units after you must start a new campaign.

The game will only read the "old SS file" and not the "new Elite file".
