Hi Danny
see page 18: 90mm/60mm/45mm square for 28/15/6 mm figures respectively.

As long as it is 'in open terrain if possible' and 'on or toucing a road', it seems that the LOC can be positioned anywhere along your own baseline (ie even in the corner). Have I got this correct?

Thanks
Brett

For those of us just reading the rules, page references or sections or approximations of where to look to find stuff is really helpful.
:)

Page 72 references base edge
Page 101 does not restrict where the LOC goes.

I found it. Again no mention in index.
Page 18 in open "if possible" one side rear edge and also on a road leading off that edge.

In truth doesn't 60mm by 60mm seem a rather odd size?

Kinda small for modelling purposes. Mine will probably be bigger like a FOG camp.

An LOC is of coyrse not the same as a supply camp in FOG(A) . Its primary game purpose is to give the players a good reason to get into the rear lines of their opponents and generals were concerned at this time about preserving their lines of communications.

But it is more of a marker than a " thing" and I suppose a flag or signpost could have served the function equally well! Given that, we did not wish to make it too big - unlike the FOG(A) camp in 25mm which I must say I struggle at times to make full of interest myself for all the different armies I have in 28mm. And pretty soon I will need several cabinet drawers just to store the camps!

60x60 seems large enough to place some of the lovely staff offcer and ADCs and equivalent figurse one can now get from figures makers eg Perry and Foundry without making it too easy for either side to occupy.

You can of course make it bigger but recognising that makes it harder to defend.
