I love the game. Single player.
Than I tried to go for multiplayer.
There is nobody online. I tried with a friend who also bought the game. Nothing.
Than I went to the read me. I made sure my firewall accepted the game. Nothing.
Than I disable firewall and norton. Nothing.

In the read me: "Problem : I cannot play multiplayer games over the Internet
Solution : Your firewall may be preventing THE HISTORY CHANNEL Great Battles of Rome from connecting to the Gamespy servers. When THE HISTORY CHANNEL Great Battles of Rome attempts to connect a pop up window may appear asking if you want to give the THCGBoR.exe permission to connect to the Internet. You need to say yes to this. You may not be able to see the pop up as the game is running in full screen mode. If you are unable to see any games listed or other players in the lobby, Alt Tab from THE HISTORY CHANNEL Great Battles of Rome and check your firewall has not popped up a warning message. "

It mentioned GameSpy in the read me. So i tried via gamespsy. Nothing.
In the manual it said LAN games. So I tried via Amachi. Nothing.

I am a bit worried here. As anyone ever did this game in multiplayer? If yes, I would appreciate any help.

Kind regards.

GBoR is only multiplayer over a LAN so unless you are connected via a LAN you wont see any other players. The readme is just a standard format and the firewall information is not relevant to this game. We might be able to allow some sort of direct IP connection if people wanted it enough - this would require you to find out your IP and let you opponent know it and manually type in their IP.

Thank you for your quick reply.
As it is only a 2 player multiplayer game connecting through direct ip would be a good solution.
I am very interested how this game will play in multiplayer.

lol ok sorry for curse i suppose althought that is hardly the cause of the problems of this world.. Id say the anti-cursing people cause most of our troubles since they consentrate on nonsense (descriptive words) instead of reality..
