Re: Companions Cup
From what I remember of the last screenshot score was 31/50 vs 48/56
I couldn 't see the far right of the map but from what I saw, Anders you were going to win (hate to say that though of course)
You had a sup arm cav vs a disrupte prot mf, a lone hoplite on the hill whou could quite easily be shot aprt and attacked form all sides. 3 moves away from Ian's camp (worked that out) and one of Ian's gen was fighting a disrupted lf on top of a steep hill. Yep he would kill him but you had a number of troops ready to take out that lone gen.
Any feedback from dvorkin and Boores?

Re: Companions Cup
I think the last score was 35/50 vs 50/56. His general was dead
My cav would have reached the camp next turn, two cav were fighting a disrupted hoplite and they had uphill advantage.
And yes, I think at least two of his BG might very well be shot to auto-rout in a turn or two.
No feedback, no.

To all captains, present and future
Hi gents
It may be a very good idea to have email addresses of team.
Some of you may have them already but it seems that it is easier to contact some people via email.

Re: Companions Cup
New standings at the end of turn 15:
Achmaenid (Europe) – hidde 33/50 vs Macedonian (UK&Eire) - ianiow 32/56
After turn 17:
Achmaenid (Europe) – hidde 36/50 vs Macedonian (UK&Eire) - ianiow 45/56
Slowly getting back to where we were. Very different compared to before. Then I made a stand at the far end of the hill.
This time I continue withdrawing, basically buying time for a cav of mine to reach his camp
I belive it will take it three turns just to get there... a long game could be even longer!

2. The link is from my blog, and there are many games reviewed, not only FoG. In medieval-warfare, the last issue, I´ve published a review about FoG.

Re: Companions Cup

After the hack, Hidde's certain victory was wiped out and we are back to staring at each other from our respective favoured terrain, the Persians on the steep hills and the Macs on the plains. The Persians have sent a lone cavalry unit to attack the Mac camp. If this works and the Persians can mob the Mac general on the hill they still stand a chance of winning.

I think Triarius' challenge has been deleted due to time.
I hope not and that you have accepted. then again your challenge is still up.
Do you have a password for Triarius.
I know there has been a few problems here and there but we will be staring round 2, hopefully before the weekend.
Still waiting for Mike and Chris to send me in what players are using what armies for round two.
Once I have received them. I will post them immediately and we can begin.
Apologies for the delay.
Round 3 will commence March 24th, I hope.

Boores
Ok and thanks
To all players, you may or may not know this.
Go to board preference and click yes on everything. In particular where you will receive an email.
If you have any private messages you will receive an email confirming this.
Could all players go with this please, as it may well speed up the process of playing a game.
Could we also post the password on this link and through private messages please.
Round 3, commencing March 24th, is probably wishful thinking on my behalf. Make that March 31st
Dvorkin, Maharg25 "Is anybody out there?"

At the end of turn 20:
Achmaenid (Europe) – hidde 41/50 vs Macedonian (UK&Eire) - ianiow 49/56
My cavalry BG have reached the camp. One Macedonian pike is fragmented and will be rear charged if he survive Ians turn.
It's now a matter of avoiding losses untill the camp gets looted. I don't have much space left to maneuver on but the Macedonian
slow foot are not very close and have steep hills in their way.

Re: Companions Cup
The saga continues
Should have everything ready for round 2 by this evening.
So you chaps from Oz and NZ be ready for tomorrow morning, your time.
Again post challenges on this link, private messages (read above) and maybe even through emails (will be so if above has been sorted).
It looks (maybe surprisingly) that the skythians are unbeaten and the Classical Indians have been, outclassed? We shall see in the next installment of "The Companions Cup!"

Re: Companions Cup

Just after this screenshot the Persian cavalryman in the bottom left corner managed to sack the enemy camp and win the game for the Persian. Hidde played a blinder of a game, making full use of the terrain and bucket loads of patience to grind down a Macedonian army that on paper and historically should have won this battle. 22 turns is the longest battle I have fought. A true epic.
Well done Hidde!
