PBEM compatability

Hi there,

I'm considering buying FoG (just the basic game) mainly to play PBEM over the internet. I know a couple of other players but they all have different add-on packs to the game. I am wondering whether it is possible to play against others with different versions of the game/ add on packs?

Yes you can play anyone online on PC or Mac. The only issue is you may be limited to which scenarios you can play and which armies you can use, but there are always base scenarios and armies available not matter what you have.

To clarify, if you have only Storm of Arrows and your friend has only Immortal Fire, you can play against each other. When you make the game, you will need to check the "Can use any army book" thingie on, by default it's "Only use the same army book as the host". At least, I've played games where the other player only has SOA(I have all of them). I suppose it might be that the host has to have the book as the other player(and since I have all of them, I already had SOA so the other guy could use it, but I could also use any book even though he didn't have them), but I'm not sure. Perhaps someone else can tell you that.
