Kind of like Crassus at the battle of Carrhae? Me thinks Crassus wished he had won a draw.IanB3406 wrote:It is to some extent, however in a non competition scenario it can be frustrating to chase mounted off the table....and in some cases only achieve a draw......

Re: Attrition points ......again
Crassus didn't chase anyone off the table with his infantry. Well, maybe the roman cav did, only to meet up with some cataphracts for a nice party.

How come you don't get AP's for major leader's loss. I would think it would effect the Army.....such as the loss of JC in Gaul. I am wrong on this?

If you say so.Razorbacjac wrote:I am wrong on this?
Perhaps there will be in V2. But the authors, allegedly, did not want to stop people using their generals to inspire troops in combat and thought the loss was enough. Very few people actually put an IC into combat unless its desperate times in the games I've seen. This would just make it less likely to happen as the loss of an IC is a disaster at the moment. If they make it worse by causing AP loss they will never fight, even last turn in a competition game.

But in a scenario rather than points based game their loss should cause more problems.

Depending on the scenario or specific battle, absolutely. That is when we use 'house rules'. You can have all kinds of fun with special situations. But in a scenario rather than points based game their loss should cause more problems.

Hey, i've had a really good idea - why don't we produce a scenario / campaign book?

The actual battle of Carrhae was a draw for Crassus. It was during the retreat after the battle that he and his army were decimated.bbotus wrote:Kind of like Crassus at the battle of Carrhae? That's always the case.....after LOOSING you get decimated in ancient warfare.mbsparta wrote:The actual battle of Carrhae was a draw for Crassus. Usually you just get decimated after losing... loosing is what you do when you let those arrows go, or let the baggage mules off the leash.
