I can't install 1.02 patch

I try to install 1.02 patch, but the installer say me "This is an add on installer. The directory you have select does not contain the target application. Please choose another one". But I'm SURE that the path is ok! I've installe d the game under "C:\Giochi\Commander - Europe at War". I don't understand... If someone could help...

You cannot use the Slitherine patch on the Matrix version. Matrixgames have their own patch. Where did you buy CEaW and what version?

It sounds like you are trying to install the wrong patch. Do you have the Slitherine or Matrix version of the game? You need to make sure you grab the patch from the person you bought it from.

Have you Java 1.5 update 11 installed?

I had problems with installing CeaW patches until I installed this version of Java too. I have it installed
with Java 1.6 update 2 as well. You can find this Java version here:

Look for the one called 5.0 update 11 and click Go

Maybe you have to browse to the game folder when you install the patch?

I've installed the game to the default folder:
C:\Program files\Slitherine\Commander - Europe at War

Maybe you should try to reinstall the original file to the default folder and then try to run
the patch?

My issue, using the M patch on teh M product is the error stating I need Java 1.5, I have 1.6.. so, Iain stated there was a zip patch that might help me, but I cannot find it? help!

Freeboy - on the download page for CEAW you'll see links to the installer but underneath links to a zip file. Try that out and see if it helps.

Anyone else having problems installing can also use this zip, it's not just for Vista, it works on all OS's.

I tried to uninstall the game (to try a re-install that permit me to apply the patch), but the unistaller reply: "Couldn't load main class". I dunno what to do...

Did you uninstall by double clicking the uninstall icon or from add/remove program?

It sounds like something has become corrupt on your machine which could be the cause of all the problems you are seeing. Are you able to ignore the errors and uninstall the game or do the erros prevent you from continuing? If so, it may be possible to reinstall the game over the top and fix the problems.

Problem solved. I manually cancelled the files and clean the registry. Done this, I reinstalled the game with the path proposed by the installer and it finally works.
