Is there a difference other than being able to work with Commanded Shot?

At first glance it appears that they are spelled differently too

Other than that uncontrolled uppity cavlary lacking in brains and no control of pursuits of broken enemy, yep seem pretty much the same.

Gendarmes don't count towards iniative. p.178.
