German Africa Corps, DAK
Whether in a future DLC will be represented by the African front?
It's hard to imagine VVII without a fight in the desert and of course the Desert Fox!
Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
There is an Africa expansion planned for PzC but it's exact nature and release date has not been announced.

Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
It would be nice if Lordz Games mapped out their intentions DLC wise, the first three were clearly mapped and we expectant gamers had confidence in what was happening. Beyond 43 east we have no clue. The company suggested well before Christmas "things a re happening " an announcement soon. Three months on still no idea, don't like being held the dark, just might move on to something else. I hope Lordz aren't losing any momentum and direction with this project!

Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
The main reason is we dont know for sure yet how thigns are going to work out. Alex (Flashback Games) is the driving force behind Panzer Corps. He was burned out after years of developing the game and needed a break so has taken a month out to work out what he wants to do next.
The tentative plan is to complete the East path so next is 44 East, then 45 East. Then the aim is to go 43, 44, 45 West. We do plan some African content but not part of the GC, its a different type of thing as its not just scenarios, it requires a lot of new assets like terrain, units etc. What happens after that is very much TBD.
When we have a firm plan in place we'll let you know.

You are right! I like your opinion.
We are too impatient! All must have some order!
Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
If Alex decides not to continue with PzC`s development will the game be dead(aside from the current DLC series)?iainmcneil wrote:The main reason is we dont know for sure yet how thigns are going to work out. Thank you for sharing that with us! It does help to know what to expect, even if changes might appear on the way. About the Africa expansion; if we`ll do it will you use the current units(graphically I mean) or will you add a desert camouflage paint on them? I`m thinking about the German units here, since the italians are already presented pretty much in the sand colors. The tentative plan is to complete the East path so next is 44 East, then 45 East. Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
Afrika will be done and we have 90% of the assets for it already finished and waiting, Alex will return and we pick it of from there, in the mean time we can finish Commander: The Great War.
The plan was to release Afrika around X-mas, but as Iain explained Alex wanted and needed a well deserved break. In the background we have been working on new models, tiles, concept art, user interface, music, scenario`s, texts, expanded library, etc... all is finished or advanced WIP... we just need to fit it all together, test, balance and polish, but I see no reason why it will not happen, just a bit later as planned.
We just reshuffled the agenda, so for now PzC series can continue with the coming DLC`s and we can focus on finishing Commander: The Great War. This way it gave Alex a window to take a break and come back rested and eager.
The DLC`s are in no real danger as it requires a minimum of coding from Alex side and are quite safe with Kerensky.

Good to hear that, Tim.

Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
That does sound like a substantial expansion for the game and I hope you`ll manage to pull it off to a top level. Tank you for the information! It`s nice to have something to look forward to.lordzimoa wrote: In the background we have been working on new models, tiles, concept art, user interface, music, scenario`s, texts, expanded library, etc... all is finished or advanced WIP...
Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
There are only two certainties in life though: death and taxes...
But it would be a bloody waist of valuable time and resources not to finish Afrika, but for now enjoy the DLC`s, give Alex some rest and peace and we hope you guys will like and enjoy Commander: The Great War as much as Panzer Corps.
Cheers,
Tim

As I've said before, Alex deserves a well-earned break. I can be patient and wait for the poor man to recuperate.

Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
To make a statement like that is really quite negative. With all the custom mods available being done for everyone to share, all the tools you need to make your own campaigns, scenarios, icons and virtually anything you want with your own imagination, how could the game die except for people to stop playing it altogether?Mark50 wrote: If Alex decides not to continue with PzC`s development will the game be dead(aside from the current DLC series)?
Old Timer Panzer General fan. Maybe a Volksturm soldier now. Did they let Volksturm drive Panzers?
Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
Flak, I think Mark50 was referring to the fact that the game could not be developed more. We modders can do a lot, but there are certain areas we cannot touch, like AI for example. Although the game will never be dead in the sense that Panzer General was never dead. But now that the Pandora box was open we want more than Panzer Corps. We want that Panzer Corps will still be developed and improved... and a part of that depends on Alex.

Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
We have no intention of letting the game die!
Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
This game is the way it is now IMMORTAL
I hope you will continue to develop.Take it easy
Re: German Africa Corps, DAK
First of all that was not a statement, it was a question(that was the point of using the interrogation mark after the last word of the phrase) and there`s quite a big difference between the two. Secondly, the question, as others have correctly guessed already was not about the modding community but about the future development of the game and whether this is fully dependent on Alex`s return. Which is something that I believe has been sufficiently elaborated by Tim above and does not require any further discussion.flakfernrohr wrote: To make a statement like that is really quite negative. Quite right. And I think we`d better lay off the talk about Alex now so we don`t stress him more than he probably is already.VPaulus wrote:But now that the Pandora box was open we want more than Panzer Corps.
