POA Error: Cataphracts vs MF Javelin

In a game I'm playing (Seleucids vs Bosporans) I had Seleucids Agema (Heavy Armoured Cataphracts) charge Bosporan MF Javelin in open terrain. The Agema had ++, but the Javelins had +, which was from something to do with not facing shock troops (I didn't note the exact message because I took a screenshot, but unfortunately the screenshot was all black due to well documented bugs in trying to take screen prints).

Surely cataphracts charging are considered shock troops? I know that I would be shocked if they charged me!

Is this a bug?

If the mediums had light spears then I beleive they would get a +poa for recieving a charge from shock, but not when attacking shock, I think the message you see squeezes all the possibilities into the line using shorthand

The cataphracts charging the MF should have a final net +POA. If the MF charged the cataphracts, then the cats would have a net ++POA since the light spear POA does not apply when charging shock mounted. Is this consistent with what you saw?

Yes Chris, it's consistent.

TGM was right. The MF Javelins had light spear too, so the + was correct.
