tullius (15/35) over GrudgeBringer (33/30) in SaS Later Crusaders

tullius:

33 BP = 11 VP
2903/9000 casualties = 30% = 6 VP
no looting

Total: 19 VP

GrudgeBringer:
15 BP = 5 VP
2533/10500 casualties = 20% [24% rounded down - is this right?] = 4 VP
no looting

Total: 9 VP

Great game GrudgeBringer. I think the scores are:

GrudgeBringer

Win: 2VP
36 BPs = 12 VP
4183/9600 casualties = 40% = 8 VP
no looting

Total for GB: 20 VP

Tullius

29 BP = 9 VP
3534/9320 casualties = 35% = 7 VP
looted camp = 2 VP

Total for Tullius: 18 VP

Storm of Arrows: Medieval Welsh section

stockwellpete 23/44 beat Tullius 43/43

I am not sure how to work this out now . . .

For me
winning = 2pts
43 break points achieved, so divide by 3 (and round down) = 14pts (gosh!)
I killed 4,218 out of 12,900 - so what does that get me? = 6pts
No camp looted = 0pts

Total = 22pts

For Tullius
23 break points achieved (rounded down) = 7pts
He killed 2,854 out of 13,200 - so what does he get? = 4pts
No camp looted = 0pts

Total = 11pts

Where are you chaps getting your % killed from? Manual calculation? Most of my lot can't even read, let alone do mathematics! :lol:

Divide the starting army size eg 12900 by 100 (129 for the maths deficient ;) ) & the divide the casualties inflicted (4,218) by that number to get % casualties inflicted (32.7). Simples :-)

Deficient? That's me. :lol: But seriously, is that what you have to do? That is far too complicated for a lot of people to be user-friendly. Much easier to say something like 1pt for every 500 casualties inflicted or something. Has somebody got a calculator to work out me and Tullius' score for me please? I think that I'll try and lose my other battles. :(

4218/12900 = 0.326 -> 32% = 6VP
2854/13200 = 0.216 -> 21% = 4VP
You can use google to do the divisions :) *edit* like this :
- go to google and in the search bar type (killed/totalArmy)*100/5 and press enter (ofc, put your numbers instead of killed and total army)
For example, in your case you have (4218/12900)*100/5 = 6.53953488, so it's 6VP because you round it down.

At school (1960s :oops: ) we did it 4218/12900 times 100/1, I think - and then you had to reduce by common numbers or something, so 6 goes into both 4218 and 12900 to give 703/2150 times 100/1 - then reduce again as 50 goes into both 2150 and 100 to give 703/43 times 2/1 - 703x2 = 1406 (when this battle took place :lol: ) over 43. 43 into 1406 goes 32.7 = 6pts :D Anyone still do maths like that?

These battles would not count to the VP's but please enjoy the challenges.

Alternatively someone take up the real challenge of being the 3rd leader of the Gauls (& Flatsix's fav army the early persians too). Then we can start those army games as well.

Cheers

Yeah! I need some real men step up and try leading an army where the soldiers wear pants instead of skirts!

Try out the EAP's. -- once you go EAP, you'll never go back...

Hannibal vs Hasdrubal

Post by flatsix518 »

RoR- Later Carthaginians vs Later Carthaginians

Flatsix518 (27/39) vs Steve-H8 (42/40)

VPs for Flatsix518 :
Winning 2vp
42 break points caused to opponent = 14vp
4900/12000 manpower loss caused = 40% = 8vp
Camp not looted = 0vp

Total VP: 24 VP

VPs for Steve-H8:
27 Break points caused to opponent = 9vp
3221/11700 manpower loss caused = 27% = 5vp
Camp not looted = 0vp

Total VP: 14vp

Steve took up a strong position, taking advantage of a hill in the center of the battlefield. In support of this position, he also garrisoned a hill to the right rear of the center hill and a woods to the left rear. My initial plan was to "pincer" the center hill (been playing too much PanzerCorps, lately). But I think I had a heavy foot go crazy and charge up the hill, so ended up in an assault on that position.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: If you put a hill before flatsix518, the dice gods will despise and hate you. You will end up weeping bitter tears over the loss of your little digital soldiers and the ruined lives of their little digital widows and little digital orphans.

Yes, once again hot dice saved my bacon and I easily stormed the hill. This pretty much compromised Steve's position so that he couldn't address the attacks on his left and right that generally succeeded.

Last turn contained graphic, sadistic overkill done purely to satisfy the sick voyeurism of our favorite forum moderator.

Crusader Throw Down

Post by flatsix518 »

SaS - Crusaders (Later) vs Crusaders (Later)

Flatsix518 (19/33) vs Tulius (39/35)

VPs for Flatsix518 :
Winning 2vp
39 break points caused to opponent = 13vp
3807/10500 manpower loss caused = 36% = 7vp
Camp not looted = 0vp

Total VP: 22 VP

VPs for Tulius:
19 Break points caused to opponent = 6vp
1895/9900 manpower loss caused = 19% = 3vp
Camp not looted = 0vp

Total VP: 9vp

This was a straight, fight like men (no hunkering down on hilltops like girls) battle. On my left, we both deployed x-bows and/or archers. We both had trouble goading these cowards into fighting each other, but there were a few melees over there. In the center, Tulius won some, but overall my guys bullied their way through. A really bad round of dice during a turn in the middle of the battle put Tulius in a hole, both positionally and in break points. We both began to feed in our knights. Tulius gained a little against my interior left flank and stabilized his left flank where I was doing well. But it was too little, too late.
