'Allied Corps' art and images
There have been a number of requests over time for something like Allied Corps. The fact is, it's already possible with the existing Panzer Corps engine. What is missing, however, are the immersive graphics and some other details.
Bebro has already incorporated US symbols in his USMC mod and included some US personnel portraits. I have added them to my Red Dawn mod (with permission) as well as adding US medals for awards, so Allied heroes are already available.
The AI can be set so that the player is US, or whatever Allied nation is desired, and is not set to only allow German/Axis players.
So what I am interested to know, is anyone able to create a graphics pack for an Allies version of Panzer Corps? It would require an effort similar to the Historical images packs but, this time, with Allied images. A new start screen would be great, and the campaign screen could be modified. Anyone who has graphical know-how can do it by editing the PNG files in the various Panzer Corps folders, especially in the UI folder. That's why I am going to the community - I sadly lack that skill!
So, is anyone interested in pursuing a project like this?

Only someone with real graphic skill. I for example couldn't, because I'm basically a re-skinner.

So would this lead to an official release of PC Allied Corps or just a MOD??

Re: 'Allied Corps' art and images
I wasn't thinking about units, although they could be done, too - I was just looking at making the 'wrapping' look Allied rather than Axis. The units the game has now would do fine, as far as I'm concerned. A campaign, or scenarios, would likewise be outside the scope of this suggestion but anyone could create them.
Re: 'Allied Corps' art and images
If we aren't in a hurry I can offer help, but I got some questions
1. "Allied" means here specifically the biggies (USSR, US, UK)? Or only the western allies US, UK, maybe Free France? Or just generally non-axis?
2. Maybe others could help finding stuff, for example in the campaign selection there could be allied war posters instead of German ones, not copyrighted of course
I can give the start screen a try in the meantime, I guess this one would take most work if done from scratch, unless we're using WWII b/w photos or other stuff already available (which wouldn't be my first idea).
Then there's maybe other work on some screens, to change the "German" looking elements

Re: 'Allied Corps' art and images
I think the Western Allies (US, UK et al) are different enough from the Soviets to warrant two separate appearance mods. The awards, portraits and hero names will differ significantly between the two.

Yes, bebro is the right man for the job.
And if he wants, I can help him, although you need a certain graphic skill.

Ok. So I'll work on a screen for the western allies first.El_Condoro wrote:I think the Western Allies (US, UK et al) are different enough from the Soviets to warrant two separate appearance mods. The awards, portraits and hero names will differ significantly between the two.

You need to add Slovak crosses everywhereVPaulus wrote:Yes, bebro is the right man for the job.

bebro wrote:You need to add Slovak crosses everywhereoh wait, they aren't allied. Too bad

That's a task at the level of my graphic skill.

Re: 'Allied Corps' art and images
Have done a quick test with models I already had for the start screen. I was shocked to find out the original is in 2100*1350
Below is a preview - how do you like the idea? I also thought of using aircraft instead, since air power was certainly a strength of the allies. However, for now we have a halftrack passing a disabled Pz IV H.
It still needs work though, the halftrack needs to be more in the middle or he gets cut off in lower screen sizes. Then there wouldn't be much "Allied" in there anymore
I also don't have a logo yet.

Looking good - that style fits well. Can we get a tank (Sherman is iconic, of course) in the image and make the German stuff less dominant? A smallish, but identifiable, plane would be great - a Typhoon that killed the panzer? With a banner somewhere, this will be great.

Thanks everyone
El_C: I can put a Cromwell tank in. I have also Shermans in 3d, but the models were not made for highres screens, so they lack detail and would require extensive rework, the Brit tank is more detailed. I'll see to get some planes and the banner in there on the weekend too...

I've been testing an early France scenario with French and British units.

Sorry only in german:
Denn wie heißt es so schön in der Bibel:
"Und vergib uns unsere Schuld, wie wir auch vergeben unseren Schuldigern"
oder
"Wer frei von Schuld ist, der werfe den ersten Stein..."
Ich würde es begrüßen wenn ihr zusammen was auf die Beine stellt.

Sorry, for my bad school english...
