Yeah flak ,,,Niki added the newset files to SS-GTPG,,this (SSGTPG) is still a beta mod however.

Is this the complete mod, all needed to download? Or are there other downloads I would need to use the mod? I waited a while to get it as you see.
It is not complete yet. There will be a 7th part. Then i will update a few scenario's and post GTPG Grand Campaign v1.0 (single campaign tree). Then i will work on the v1.0 of SS-GTPG. Time flies by... i started on this project in early november.

I have a question about deployment slots.
From what I understand there are no more free SE units to deploy, they no count against your core deployment. In the briefings between scenarios you list the max experiance, max core and max SE units. Have you adjusted the maximum core limits to accout for no more free deployment of SE units?

In GTPG there is no correlation between core and SE units.
Max SE units=7 because there are 7 packs dynamic linked with eachother. The 7th you can also receive in the 6th pack so it can gain experience for the last part.
The number of core units is in relation what i deemed necessary to gain at a minimum a MV in every scenario (nobody likes a loss). In those scenario's where your core+ SE units do not suffice for a MV, auxiliaries were added to compensate.
Also, in some scenario's i build in a reinforcement on request trigger in those cases where i believe it is desirable for the not so experienced player.
SS-GTPG might turn out to be different. I'm still considering a few things.

In the Elite Units Mod there , which Niki used , are Heer SE units plus a bonus Storch unit

In SS-GTPG there are 3 different Wehrmacht units

1) The vanilla Heer units---see read-me for changes....nothing major

2)Waffen SS---You can purchase these units. They have slightly better stats and cost a little more..plus a couple of other tweaks....see read-me.

3) SE Heer---these are the bonus units. There is now a "bonus unit" for every ground unit (Flak,,A.T.,,ARTY...etc.) in the game. They are awarded the same way in the game,,there is just more variation on what is awarded,,plus the same tweaks that were applied to the Regular Heer and Waffen SS units and they are still free units ,,but their stats are the same as Regular Heer units. Their "claim to fame" is that they are a free unit that you didn't have to buy and doesn't count against you core deployment.


So as you can see you have more of a selection for purchase and there are "more Elite Units",,both Heer and Waffen SS. The SE Heer should still "be free deployment slots",,but then again SS-GTPG is a beta and all things are subject to change



P.S.

The Elite Units Mod works the same way w/ the vanilla campaign and the DLC's. Basicall y I combined the SS Panzer Corps and the Heer Total SE Mod into the Elite Units Mod .

I think I'm playing the SS-GTPG release from last week. I have gotten Free units awarded at the beginning of a scenario like the standard game SE unit, an SS Recon TYVM, but I'm pretty sure it counted against my deployment.
I understand that additional aux units or reinforcements can take the place of the SE units. I just wasn't sure if that is how it was addressed. The between scenario briefing was confusing me.

This will be very helpfull..could you give us a break down on your core...please?

IE:

How many Regular Heer

How many Waffen SS you purchased

How many SE Heer (bonus) units..and when were you awarded them.


Also how is the prestige,,both intial and during the individual scenarios?

The max core units, max exp and max SE units written in the briefing are the values valid from the scenario you are about to play.

So in this mod the SE units are just units awarded to you at the beginning of a scenario. They aren't any different than any found unit or other unit that 'joins' your core.

SE units and the core units you purchase are the same. SE units have the advantage that they don't take up a core slot. (GTPG and SS-GTPG)

So SE are suppose to be a 'free deploy' unit? I have to check to see if mine is free or not. Plus it seems much harder to get the SE units. I'm on Malta/Balkans and have only received a single one. Did the chance of receiving one change?

SE units deploy just like any other unit but it shouldn't take up a core slot. If it does, please post it! Any unit you purchase will always take up a core slot.
The chance of receiving one hasn't changed, it is exactly the same as playing GTPG, any of the DLC's or playing the vanilla campaign.
Some people save the game at the end of a mission, go to the next one and if they don't get a SE unit, they just reload the savegame. I had to do it while playtesting, for balance sake. Easy trick to get SE units.
Ofcourse you can only receive a SE unit as long there are SE slots vacant.

I'm not upset to have only received 1 so far, the later it goes the better the free unit will be :D

I'll check to see if it takes up a deployment slot. I hope not because come 1945, if I have to kill 300 russian units to get the DV I will need every unit I can deploy :mrgreen:

You are right, the later you start getting them , the better the unit will be but a SE units always start from 0 exp.

The Russians deserve credit in this game. If you have to play Berlin-East, there are 232 russian units that will make your core miserable. Have a sixpack closeby... for they won't be coming at you in BT-7's.

The ultimate battle...but i still need to think very hard about that one...between Germany and its minors vs Russia will be in 1946. But as i wrote i have nothing decided yet.

What about Overlord failed,,but the allies continued up the Italian Peninsula and meet the Russians in the Balkans and then they (the Allies/Soviets) continue into Germany proper?

Just an idea,,I know it can be poked full of holes,,it would just be cool to have to fight everbody in the Götterdämmerung....que "Ride of the Valkerie" or some other suitable Wagnerian piece.

Oh,,,that would screw up the whole story/campaign tree so far,,,,oh well :cry: (dejected sigh)

GTPG7

I started working on GTPG7. Normally the game should have ended in GTPG6 but who doesn't want more missions ;).
Here is the first developer's screenshot of GTPG7:

Well, that one does look familiar, doesn't it? The map is actually a lot bigger but what i want to show is the part with the letters A.
This area full of "A's" is one out of three conditions you must meet to win the scenario. You will have to clear this area of enemy vessels.
Ofcourse the image you see is still a part of the map under development and might contain some changes when released.
