This was the first battle where lack of prestige really started to pinch. By the end of the battle probably 1/3 of my force was out of commission due to losses that I could not afford to replace and the loss of a highly experienced Wurfrahmen was especially painful. Interestingly, this is a unit I probably could have saved if so many of my troops weren't in the back.

Truthfully, I should have only settled for a marginal victory here, but I really wanted a crack at the Kursk Armory scenario. I pushed my force to the breaking point, by about turn 14 or 15 my advance had slowed to a crawl. I scarcely had the strength to continue but by a maximum effort I squeaked out a decisive victory on the very last turn.

This was a difficult battle that probably would have been fairly manageable if prestige was easier to come by. Hopefully the raid on Kursk will change my fortunes.
