Naval mines

Post by robman »

I just got to Oslo and encountered naval mines for the first time. How do naval mines work? What happens if a ship enters the minefield? Can the mines be removed? I couldn't find any information about this in the manual, the library, or in the forum. Thanks in advance for your help.

Naval mines prevent ship movement. There are no minesweepers in Panzer Corps, so they cannot be removed. Their primary function in the Oslo scenario is to ensure the Blucher does not just sail away from the guns of the Oscarborg, which would trivialize the objective in that scenario to take out the Oscarborg guns before they sink the Blucher. ;)

They are basically a hex that is impassable to ground and naval units, but does not interfere with aircraft.
