Firing bazooka from inside a building

Post by Skanvak »

I notice that in BFA bazooka team can fire from inside a building. There are discution in two other games' forum and the two games designers decidied to prohibit the firing of bazooka (and similar) from inside a building.

Can you explain me your choice?

Same with mortars. It is a gameplay decision as the units and terrain is abstracted in so many ways.
You can call me junk - and type that with one hand.

So you consider that they are not inside the building but somewhat in open space in the building square (like garden)?

Yes. They could be in the building, then deploy outside (momentarily) to shoot. The scale (~ 100m / tile) would allow the abstraction to be acceptable.

Now, mortar teams would be questionable ... unless the building they occupied was missing the roof. If the mortar was allowed to fire, then perhaps their cover rating should be lowered and not be granted the full cover that an enclosed structure would provide.

Indeed, I didn't look at the scale of the game as the look on the graphic made it quite look like smaller for urban area (though, I remind to have read that the scale was logarithmic). I will look more into it.
