Oil loot?

Post by SMK-at-work »

One of the things I prefer in CEAW to SC2 is the lack of loot when a country falls.

However with the emphasis on oil, I wonder if oil should be looted? Tehre's an interesting article on oil strategies at http://www.mikeantonucci.com/bloodforoil.htm that says that the French & Low-country campaigns were actually oil-positive for the Germans - ie they captured more oil than they used up!

The French campaign 'only' lasted 6 weeks or so and if it had lasted several months the oil balance could well have been negative for the germans. As the historical outcome of a quick victory is considered by many to be a low probability result with a long campaign and maybe even a stalemate more probable. It is better not to have looting of the French oil IMO

Er.....any looting of oil would be based on how much oil the French had left at the end of the campaign - not a fixed amount.

And I'm pretty sure the French campaign will almsot always be short....
