Hello,
I've noticed that Belgian Infantry in the 1940 Campaign act a bit odd.
1. There stats say they are something like..
2 soft
1 hard
6 defense
0 initiative (off the top of my head)
Is this a UI bug because surely they would be garbage if that was the case which they are not, which leads me to my next point.
2. They consistently cause relatively high damage to my experienced, over strengthed Panzer IIIs when attacking them in a clear hex and take little damage when attacked (in a clear hex).
My first play through I lost a veteran Panzer III to them but assumed I had a case of bad luck. This play i can clearly see it is not random... Belgians are just that tough =P (even had one a case of losing 4 str off an over strengthened Panzer III in a clear hex from one Belgian Inf who took 1 or 2 damage)
I know the Panzer III is not a support tank but still...
Just thought id post here and see if anyone else has found this and if it is intended or not?
Love the Game! (bring on Aussie's in North Africa)

PS I noticed myself that's it's not just the Belgian Infantry and not only in 1940 that they act a bit oddAnd of course, don`t forget Belgians are such wonderful, intelligent and sympathetic people... we could not resist. LOL
Their ground defense is 8. Just like your Infantry.
The problem is that most of the early tanks don't have high attack values and Panzer III have weaker SA than the GD of the Belgian Infantry.
Even with low HA of only 1, some 2-3 Belgian Infantry units are a threat to a tank.
In the open field your tank is still a stronger unit, but without backup it won't run over several Infantry units. This is notably different to the late war when Infantry in clear terrain is target practice for tanks.
It's a bit like the surprisingly effective Cavalry units early on. Quantity also has a quality of its own.
I promise you, you are going to love Russian SMG Infantry.
