Sound Problems, CTD´s

[Panzerschreck]

Hello, i have made a fresh install of Panzer Corps and installed the 1.05 Patch. I (try) to play the german version...

Now, when i started the game and the intro is over i have no menu- or button sound and no voice in the mission briefings.
The game will start every Campaign but whitout sound and music. when i try to move one unit there is music and sound for at least a half second and then the game chrashes to desktop...

Is this a known bug/problem?

Do you have any codec pack installed? K-lite?

No, i dont have any codec packs installed.

I have Win7-64Bit, directx11 and the last media player installed.

Ok, i have installed the newest k-lite codec pack. When i now move a unit, the game has music and soundfx but not until i moved a unit.

I allways have no music in menu and no voice in briefings.

When i rename the video folder i dont have the intro video but the problems are still alive.

Have resorted to save every turn expecting a crash. With 8.x Klite installed a crash happens in 2-3 turns time. The first symptom is a black background between turns, the crash usually happens in the next turn.

The issue is not properly the codecs and the game.
Panzer Corps uses MCI as the API for playing video and sound and not DirectShow.
When this happens in PzC it only means that the Windows MCI is broken. Most of the times it's cause d by K-lite installation, but not only. A third part program can sometimes also break it.
You've only noticed it with PzC, because nowadays there aren't many software that use MCI as the API, otherwise you would have also problems with those.
It's not a game issue, but rather a local Windows issue.
