Squads file

Post by Rosseau »

I could swear I remember pasting some units into the bottom of a Squad file from another expansion, and there they were, in the Editor for use. But I guess things got (understandably) more complicated, because I can't do much with the Sea Lion file.

Thanks!

You need to edit the csv file, not the xls. Slitherine does not recommend modifying your game files but to put the new file in your My Games folders.
You can call me junk - and type that with one hand.

Thanks for the response. I've always edited the csv files in My Games. But now the editor is crashing, so I am thinking things are not so simple anymore - i.e. other thing must be done mod-wise - You can't just paste that line of text for a unit at the end of the file.

However, I do appreciate that they include the map files this time. Very handy.

Rosseau,

In your campaign folder (which contains the sealions squads.csv), right-click on the squads.csv file and bring up the Properties. Look to see if 'Read Only' is checked, then uncheck it.

It appears that all the files in the Sealion6 folder are 'Read Only' ... which is new (for some reason).

That help at all?

You can usually get some info from the error.log file in the BBCBA folder. Is that showing anything?

Cheers

There is also another reason why the editor (BA) crashes after an edit of the CSV.

If the CSV is still open (in your xl editor) it won't load in BA. Close the xl window that has the CSV open.

The rest is mostly operator error stuff

Working fine. I mistakenly highlighted the list of Sealion scenarios directly instead of "start with existing scenario" option

Thanks though. You guys are great.
